Saracen Interiors worked on the design and installation of the ICT suite at a junior school in Camberley, Surrey. When the school’s ICT suite was surveyed it consisted of kitchen worktops and allowed only 15 computers to be used at any one time.

The suite has now been up and running for almost two years and has dramatically changed the way ICT is used within the school. The desks are very hard wearing and show no signs of wear and tear although they are being used on a daily basis. Having provided three design options for our client to view, a circular pod arrangement comprising of 4 x 2m diameter desks was selected. This allowed eight computers to be installed onto each desk.

The design also allowed for the electrical and networking wiring to be installed via a power pole running down from the false ceiling to the centre of the desks.

Saracen’s design solution has allowed the ICT suite to accommodate 28-30 computers with appropriate hard wearing desks for use on a daily basis and in accordance with health and safety regulations.
